Role of a Credit Analyst

As the Credit Analyst you will be responsible for evaluating new customers, establishing and monitoring credit limits, researching account activity and resolving past due accounts through extensive contact with customers; as well as improving cash flow and minimizing bad debt.

Additional responsibilities will include

  • Reviewing and contacting customer accounts which are past due to resolve delinquencies and to ensure prompt payment
  • Determining collectability of past due accounts
  • Performing credit investigations of new accounts through Dun & Bradstreet, Internet and customer-provided credit and financial data
  • Credit approvals up to $250,000 and establishment of new customers for service
  • Working with the Assistant Credit Analyst to resolve debits and discrepancies
  • Interfacing with various intercompany departments to resolve credit issues and disputes regarding shipments, products, or purchase order discrepancies
  • Following through on issues to final resolution
  • Daily credit approvals and release of orders
  • Handling all customer account maintenance and files and customers’ vendor data requirements
  • Running monthly customer statements and review before mailing
  • Letters of credit and wire payments for export customers
  • Running and analyzing month-end receivable aging reports


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business
  • 5+ years of commercial credit work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with ERP systems, BPCS or LX a plus
  • Experience with desirable
  • Background in Servicemax applications desirable
  • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Highly-effective interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Independent self-starter with a team mentality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with a high level of expertise in Word and Excel
