Job Summary

As the Electrical Drafter you will provide electrical design, layout and drafting support ranging from basic to complex to engineers and other team members to ensure efficient creation of detailed design requirements for company products.  You will also furnish and enter all business system data required of Engineering Services by various groups within the company such as Purchasing, Manufacturing, Materials Planning, Production, etc.

Additional responsibilities will include

  • Working from data provided by engineers to create electrical assembly drawings, cable harness designs, and wiring diagrams using CAE/CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, or NX.
  • Conferring with engineers and other professionals to interpret design concepts, determine nature and type of required detailed working drawings, and coordinate work with others.
  • Generating and maintaining Item Master entries, product Bills of Material, part Bills of Material and engineering data.
  • Coordinating with other internal departments affected by design development.  Providing inputs for schedules, cost and technical information concerning design projects.
  • Ensuring that any changes are documented and prepared in accordance with engineering change procedures and in a timely manner using Product Lifecycle Management tools such as Teamcenter® PLM.
  • Providing simple electrical design individually, and complex designs with engineering oversight.
  • Maintaining currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, independent research, seminars, exhibits and trade shows, as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Associates degree in a technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering related field in a design/drafting role with a concentration in electrical design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks®
  • Proficiency in Teamcenter® PLM system or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
