Role of the Electrical Drafter

As the Electrical Drafter you will provide mechanical and electrical design, and layout and drafting support ranging from basic to complex, to ensure efficient production of detailed design requirements for company products.

Additional responsibilities will include

  • Providing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic detail and assembly drawings using CAE/CAD tools such as Solidworks® and AutoCAD from data supplied by engineers
  • Conferring with engineers and other professionals to interpret design concepts, determine nature and type of required detailed working drawings, and coordinating work with others
  • Generating and maintaining Item Master entries, machine Bills of Material, part Bills of Material and engineering data maintenance
  • Coordinating with other internal departments affected by design development; providing input for schedules, cost and technical information concerning design projects
  • Assuring that any changes are documented and prepared in accordance with engineering change procedures and in a timely manner
  • Providing simple mechanical or electrical design individually, and complex designs with engineering oversight
  • Maintaining currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, independent research, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a technical discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in a design/drafting role in an Engineering-related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks®
  • Proficiency in Teamcenter® PLM system or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
