We currently have an opportunity available for an IS Support Specialist l. Reporting to the I.T. Manager, the primary functions of this role are: Provides timely, accurate assistance/support to end users; Identifies, prioritizes, researches and resolves problems related to PC, peripherals, network, and application use;  Responds to telephone, e-mail and Help Desk requests for technical support; Documents, tracks, and monitors problems to ensure timely resolution of problems; Administers I.T. related inventory programs and I.S. audit reporting requirements; Refers complex problems or those requiring additional expertise to more experienced personnel.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide on-site and remote support to users, diagnosing and resolving computer-related problems.
  • Determine the complexity of user-related problems resolving those that are within the limits of his/her technical expertise and escalating those that are beyond his/her technical competency.
  • Maintain detailed documentation outlining the nature of problems encountered and the steps taken to resolve the existing problem.
  • Create, update, and revise documentation for users in a clear and visually appealing format for training, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate as a member of I.S. Department project teams deploying or updating applications and systems.
  • Develop and deploy Windows images to new desktops and laptops.
  • Anticipate challenges and resolve conflicts.
  • Provide 24/7 Support.
  • Occasional travel as required.
  • Perform all assigned duties and tasks in a safe manner.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve user-related problems in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Solid technical expertise in both hardware and software.
  • Sound communications skills with the ability to provide technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task required.
  • Must be highly organized, proactive and collaborative.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree (required) in IT Administration or related field
  • 1 -3 years’ experience in providing I.T. support to a diverse clientele.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in PC maintenance and diagnostics, installation and troubleshooting of various hardware or software problems, and documentation of procedures.
