Primary Function:

Plans all activities necessary to ensure proper parts, tools and arrangements including instructions are prepared and ready for the craftsperson.

Essential Duties:

Review all requests for his area of responsibility entered into CMMS each day.

Determine if there are any existing work orders already in CMMS for the work being requested.

If the request is questionable for any reason, review with Area Supervisor to determine the need for the work.

If the request is valid, review the equipment / area of the request and gather information needed to perform the repair. (Parts, drawings, lifts, permits, etc.)

Generate work orders after preparing job, est. hours, kitting parts, etc.

i.      Ensure quality work order is generated.

ii.      Ensure all safety, tools, procedures, and LOTO are included

iii.      Visit the job site so all work and needed parts are identified properly.

iv.      Clarify where, what, when, how work is to be performed.

v.      Mark work order KIT if parts are kitted.

vi.      Ensure accuracy of equipment BOM, edit as needed.

1. Help maintain the PM system for area of responsibility, editing jobs, est. hours, frequency, adding new PM’s, etc. as needed.

2. Assist Parts Specialist with Part discrepancies, description cleanup, etc.

3. Identify Part discrepancies, additional work needed, work task edits, reoccurring problems in area of responsibility through review of complete work orders in order to build standard job packages.

4. After the kitting and delivery of parts, ensure all parts needed for job are in kit, kit is properly marked with work order number and equipment number for easy identification.

5. Manage KITS in the staging area with assistance from the Staging room attendant. / Maint. Supv.

6. Review PKITS for age and determine job date with Maint Supv.

7. Review accuracy of the KITS to ensure nothing has been removed after Maint. Supv. has placed it on the next week’s schedule.

8. Generate and Maintain Critical KPI’s

9. Other duties as assigned

11. Ability to communicate effectively  with all levels of employees

Skills & Qualifications Required:

Proven ability to follow safety rules and regulations

Mechanical aptitude

Computer proficiency including excel, word, CMMS


Education & Experience Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent
