Position Overview:To plan and perform a variety of manufacturing engineering functions to establish productive, cost effective manufacturing methods and processes.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing new processes to ensure quality and continuous improvement, utilizing automated production lines

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and standards by utilizing Design for manufacturability and design for Automation concepts.

Analyzes, improves and plans work force utilization, space requirements, equipment layout, and workflow to ensure maximum efficiency Responsible for Robotic Programming

Responsible for troubleshooting equipment, processes and assembly Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature

Responsible for troubleshooting processes, equipment and assembly issues effectively utilizing root cause analysis

Responsible for managing multiple projects consecutively.

Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, certificate programs and establishing personal networks

Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards

Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions

Develop and document Maintenance Procedures and train technicians

Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements, potential, and implement  Participate in a lead role for Kaizen events to ensure continuous process improvement  Contributes to cross functional team effort

Responsible for playing an active role in mentoring MFG Level I and 2 positions


Experience with PC based Word, Excel, MS Project, Access, Power Point

Experience dealing with complexity, informing others, leadership, manufacturing methods and procedures, manufacturing quality, product development, design for automation and presenting technical information

Ability to effectively communicate and present information to management, engineers, vendors, assembly line supervisors and operators.

Ability to read and understand wiring schematics Solid works experience required

Proficient in PLC systems

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Methods - Required

Experience with Design for Manufacturing Concepts — Required

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and does not require exercising independent judgement

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several absfract and concrete variables

Must be able to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

Education and Experience:

Bachelors of Science degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering

10 + years' experience in a related position within a manufacturing environment Experience with implementing and maintaining automated systems preferred
