The Quality Assurance Technician will assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor with the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) and provide support in the administration of the organization’s Quality program.  The Quality Assurance Technician will support the needs of Quality Assurance while interfacing with production, receiving, and shipping departments to ensure that quality standards are met and enforcing all GMP’s and SSOP’s throughout the production facility.


The Quality Assurance Technician will:

  • Be responsible for raw material receiving, product sampling, and sensory evaluation
  • Sample inbound raw materials; sample raw materials at offsite warehouse as needed
  • Conduct bench analysis for raw materials as needed
  • Manage raw material sample submission to outside labs
  • Raw material release through SAP and communication of daily raw material release status
  • Responsible for raw material COA documentation and raw material release in Edesia’s ERP system (SAP)
  • Manage finished goods sample submission to outside labs
  • Manage finished goods sample submission to partner company
  • Organize, label and manage retains and sample library of finished goods
  • Organize, label and manage retain library of raw materials
  • Collect, prepare, and document raw material samples of new suppliers for Supplier Validation Program for 3rd party and in-house testing requirements
  • Collect, prepare, and send raw materials for semi-annual COA verification testing
  • Identify and isolate raw materials that do not meet standards
  • Investigate and create corrective actions for non-conforming raw materials
  • Back-up support to QC Tech for receiving, sampling, inspection and testing bulk oil deliveries
  • Ensure that all of the systems in the QMS program are being followed
  • Other QA tasks and production-support tasks as assigned


  • B.S or A.S in Food Science or Food Technology, or a related field with 1+ years of quality control experience within a food-manufacturing environment
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with food safety regulations such as HACCP, FSMA, BRC, GMP’s, SSOP programs preferred
  • Must have good communication, organizational skills and an ability to work collaboratively with all departments
  • Must have good, safe laboratory practices
