Functional Summary

As a Quality Technician you will be an integral part of the organization’s quality improvement efforts.  In this role you will ensure that safety, quality and productivity standards are maintained; work on continuous improvement activities and certification systems in conformance with ISO programs; perform reviews of components, subassemblies and products to ensure conformance to Engineering and Quality requirements; and work with cross functional teams to determine root causes and corrective actions for any non-conformances.

Duties and responsibilities will include

  • Assist the Quality Manager in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality system.
  • Work with others daily on continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system.
  • Ensure that products and processes comply with the requirements of the quality system.
  • Analyze failures and determine appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Perform Inspection and Quality reviews of components and subassemblies to ascertain their conformance to requirements.
  • Continuously improve receiving inspection processes and procedures.
  • Analyze compiled data and develops and generates statistical reports on inspection activities and results, process and product testing results, etc. and recommend action as required.
  • Conduct CMM and manual inspections to qualify parts and suppliers.
  • Assist production personnel in the resolution of safety, quality and productivity concerns.
  • Assist teams with root cause and continuous improvement efforts to improve both part and process quality.

Qualifications

  • ASQ Certification and/or a two-year degree in a mechanical area
  • 2-4 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Training with experience in incoming inspection techniques, blueprint reading, and GD&
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with hands-on work in laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of Access and PC-DMIS programming a plus
  • Two-year degree in a mechanical area preferred
