REPORTS TO: Controller LOCATION: North Kingstown, Rhode Island TYPE: Exempt


The Senior Accountant will be responsible for various professional accounting duties including: account and ledger reconciliations, oversee and understand accounts receivable and payable functions, budget analysis, monthly and yearly close assistance, inventory, cost accounting with respect to new line of business, and various other accounting and administrative functions.


  • Assist the Controller and the CFO with daily, monthly and yearly accounting operations in compliance with GAAP.
  • Compile and analyze financial or transactional information to prepare journal entries or reconciliations
  • Oversee and understand the process of vendor invoices and accounts payable functions
  • Review customer deliveries and prepare related customer invoices
  • Prepare and post monthly entries including amortization, depreciation, royalties, accruals and various other
  • Prepare month-end analysis and documentation schedules
  • Assist the Controller with monthly financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Prepare and analyze budgets, budget to actual and variance reports
  • Participate in developing business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and operations
  • Collect appropriate data and prepare federal, state, and local reports and filings
  • Assist on various accounting, finance and operational projects as needed, with focus on line of business cost analysis with respect to new commercial division


  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Accounting or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years related experience
  • Excel spreadsheet proficiency required and Microsoft Office experience necessary
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and as an individual contributor
  • Needs the ability work with minimum supervision on multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and flexibility
  • Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle matters with high discretion
  • SAP experience preferred


General office environment; occasionally works in production area. High utilization of office equipment, phone, computer, fax, etc. Some travel both domestically and internationally may be required based on business demands.
